Ford Motor Company was founded in 1903 by Henry Ford in the United States. Its founder was the first person to come up with the idea of the production line and also the person to produce the first mass production car. In our factory, body parts are produced in accordance with this brand.

Ford: About Fordson

Fordson was founded by Henry Ford as a truck and tractor brand. It has been used in mass production general purpose tractors by the following brands.

  • By Henry Ford & Son Inc. from 1917 to 1920,
  • By Ford Motor Company (USA) and Ford Motor Company Ltd (England) from 1920 to 1928,
  • by Ford Motor Company Ltd. from 1929 to 1964.

After 1964, the Fordson name was abolished. All tractors from the brand are named and also labeled as Ford in both the UK and the United States.

From 1917 to 1928, it is the only automotive company that sells cars, trucks and tractors simultaneously under its brand name.

In the years between 1928 and 1939, Ford of the USA stopped producing tractors. During this time the UK continued to manufacture Fordsons and also sell them widely. It also continued to develop new variants. Fordson re-entered the United States tractor market in 1939 with a completely new model and the Ford brand.

What is Body?

The body is the sheet metal part covering the vehicle. Thus, it includes the engine, cabin and other parts of the vehicle. For this reason, it is very important for the safety of the parts of the vehicle and the safety of the people in the event of an accident.

In motor vehicles, it covers the engine part of the vehicle. Therefore, it has an opening and closing structure. Although the part covering only the engine compartment is defined as the body, it generally covers the outer structure of the vehicle.

What is the Function of the Hood?

The most important task of the body is to mitigate the damage that will occur in the event of an accident. This minimizes possible injuries. Therefore, the durability of the hood is very important. At the same time, the hood forms the make-up surface of the vehicle. For this reason, the most important point for people who care about the exterior of the vehicle is whether the parts that make up the body are damaged.

What material is the body made of?

The main purpose of the body is to protect the driver and passengers against all kinds of danger. It also has the task of reducing the sounds coming from other parts. For this reason, in the past years, fairings were produced from heavy and highly protective materials such as steel or sheet metal. The purpose of using these materials was to provide maximum protection in the event of an accident. However, this heavy material used was a very dangerous situation for pedestrians and other non-motorized drivers. At the same time, the heavy material used caused more fuel consumption.

These heavy bodywork materials provided maximum protection for the driver and passengers when a car was hit against a wall, while it was very dangerous for pedestrians in the event of a collision with pedestrians. Therefore, it has become obligatory to produce vehicle bumpers and hoods in a way that will not harm pedestrians in possible accidents.

Today, aluminum or carbon fiber is often used. These materials are both extremely light and provide the desired level of security. Some vehicle companies also add different filling materials to the hoods to increase safety.
