What is Clutch?

Clutch lining is a system that establishes the connection between the engine and the wheels. The lining is a rough surface. It appears as a disc-shaped piece with high friction feature. When pressed on a surface, it moves with the surface and fully grasps the surface. This system is the system that creates the clutch.

The clutch allows gear changes in cars. It also ensures that the vehicle starts off without any problems. At the same time, the part between the engine and the transmission is called the clutch.

While the clutch system works with the clutch cable in old model cars, it works with hydraulic fluid and center in new model cars.

How is the Clutch Working System?

This system is a gear system that takes advantage of the friction force. When the car is started, the pressure and the pad are activated, the ball presses the pressure and the pad is wasted. In this way, the gear lever can be moved easily. Therefore, gear change is possible.

What Are the Functions of the Clutch?

The clutch has various functions in the vehicle. These;

  • To ensure that the connection between the engine and the power transmission systems is disconnected.
  • To ensure that the transmission of motion to the gearbox is interrupted when the gear is changed while the vehicle is running.
  • To provide easy gear changing
  • To ensure that the vehicle moves smoothly and smoothly.
  • To ensure that the movement in the engine gradually reaches the wheels while the vehicle is started.

Considerations in Clutch Usage

In order for the clutch to have a long life, you should pay attention to the following points.

  • Care should be taken not to take off with half clutch on slopes.
  • No shifting should be made between reverse gear and forward gear before the vehicle comes to a complete stop.
  • Avoid using the clutch pedal while braking.
  • The clutch system should be maintained regularly.
  • Continuous pressure should not be applied to the clutch.
  • Instead of waiting in the clutch and first gear at a red light, wait in neutral gear.
