IMT was established in 1947 as Merkez Dökümhane and today produces tractors and agricultural machinery at the same time. Its headquarters is in Serbia. As HARS Traktör A.Ş, we produce hydraulic parts suitable for this brand in our factory.

IMT

IMT was established in 1947 as the Merkez Dökümhane. However, in 1949, the Merkez Dökümhane and four local companies merged to form a new company called the Metal Institute. In 1954, the said company was renamed as Machinery and Tractor Industry (IMT).

IMT started the production of the tractor of its own design in 1965 and realized the largest annual production in history with 42,000 tractors and 35,000 machines in 1988.

Between 1990 and 2000, it became necessary to make significant changes in production due to economic conditions and a long-term cooperation was signed with Perkins company. In 2005, the first motors conforming to EU 2000/25/EC standards were produced.

In 2012 IMT introduced a new S Series. In this period, new generation tractors were introduced to the market with purchasing power.

It stopped production in August 2015 and was acquired by the Indian manufacturing company TAFE in April 2018.

IMT Popular Products

The most popular of IMT tractors are IMT 533 and IMT 539. These tractors have become popular in Yugoslavia due to their reliability, ease of use and high maneuverability.

The 5200 – 5500 models were among the ten largest tractors on the world market in the 1980s and 1990s. The features of the series that stand out with this feature are as follows:

  • Hydrostatic power steering
  • 500 hp
  • Synchronous transmission gear
  • V12 diesel FAP and Mercedes – Benz Engine
  • 4x4 chassis

In our factory, hydraulic parts are produced with superior quality in accordance with the IMT brand.

What is Hydraulic?

In the second half of the 20th century, the hydraulic system began to be widely used in machine manufacturing and also in industrial applications. The reason for this is that the system in question transmits forces and movements more easily and efficiently than friction systems.

The meaning of the word hydraulic is derived from the Latin word 'hydor' meaning water. This is because hydraulics is a branch of science that studies the mechanical properties of fluids. In this system, incompressible fluids are used. Thanks to the pressurized fluid obtained, it provides the production of movements and forces.

What is Hydraulic System?

The hydraulic system consists of elements that operate a mechanism with the transmission of pressurized fluid power.

How Does the System Work?

The working principle of the hydraulic system is as follows:

  • The pump in the system absorbs the oil from the tank and sends it to the system with effective pressure. If the pressure is higher than the desired value, it returns to the tank. In this way, it is ensured that the system works safely.
  • The oil is sent to the directional control valve by the pump.
  • Then oil directional control valve; It directs the oil to the user elements such as cylinder and engine.
  • The related machine works thanks to the oil flow rate and pressure.
  • The speed of the machine can be changed with the oil flow setting.
  • In order to ensure the forward or reverse movement of the machine, the flow / return paths of the oil are changed by the direction control valve.

What Does a Hydraulic System Do?

Since fluids are not compressible, hydraulic systems provide great powers.

What Is The Hydraulic System Used For?

The hydraulic system is used to achieve high power density. It is a system used especially in mobile equipment such as excavators and presses.

Usage Areas of Hydraulics

The usage areas of hydraulics are as follows:

  • Industrial areas
  • Energy production
  • Mining
  • Movable hydraulic tools
  • Maritime and shipping industry
