About Ebro

The forerunner of the Ebro brand was founded by Ford Motor Co. in Spain in 1920. It is a company established under the name of SAE. In 1929, the company changed its name to Ford Motor Ibérica SA. II. In the period up to World War II, cars, buses, tractors and trucks belonging to the Ford series were assembled in Spain under the Ford brand. At the same time, these products were sold in Spain under the Ford brand. So the parent company of Ebro trucks is Motor Ibérica.

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, the company took over four Spanish light vehicle manufacturers:

  • Fadisa (Alfa Romeo Romeo minibuses),
  • Siata (minivans derived from the SEAT automobile),
  • Aisa (Avia trucks),
  • Vias (various Jeep 4x4s and Forward Control utility vehicles)

At the same time, the Spanish branch of Perkins engines was purchased.

With a license agreement with Massey Ferguson, Motor Iberica has also entered the agricultural tractor market. In this way, Massey Ferguson Motor became the main shareholder of Ibérica.

In the 1980s it introduced the E-series trucks, consisting of six models with a gross weight of 3.5 to 11.2 kg, and the P-series with a gross weight of 13 to 27 kg. It also continued the production of the lighter Avia series.

At the end of 1979, due to the economic crisis, Massey Ferguson transferred its 33% stake to Nissan, which was looking for a production site in Europe. In 1981, the company's agricultural machinery division was sold to Kubota. Today it is traded under the name Ebro - Kubota. At the same time, Nissan increased its stake to 55%, and then in 1986 Nissan acquired Ebro Motor Ibérica entirely. That's why in 1987 the company's name was changed to Nissan Motor Ibérica.

In our factory, steering parts are produced in accordance with the Ebro brand.

What is Steering?

It is an important system found in motor vehicles and even in many non-motorized vehicles. Because it is a system that enables the vehicle to be turned in the desired direction. At the same time, this system consists of a number of parts.

It usually looks like a simple circle. However, today, the sound system includes buttons to manage tasks such as the vehicle signal system.

What is Power Steering?

In recent years, with the interest in hydraulic steering, the usage rate of these steering wheels has also increased. The reason for the increasing interest in hydraulic steering is the comfort and lightness felt especially when cornering. Because the hydraulic system helps to turn the steering wheel more easily.

It is called hydraulic because it works with the help of the steering hydraulic fluid. It is a must-have system for almost all cars today, which was found in luxury vehicles when it started to be used.

What are the Benefits of Power Steering?

The hydraulic steering mainly provides the vehicle to turn more easily. Its benefits are as follows:

  • It prevents loss of steering control as a result of a possible tire explosion in the vehicle.
  • It consumes minimum energy for the driver to turn the steering wheel.
  • It provides more rotation with less movement during rotation.
  • It prevents the impacts to be transferred to the steering wheel.
  • Provides more comfortable parking in narrow and difficult areas.

How is the Working Principle of the Steering Wheel?

When the steering wheel is turned to the desired direction, the wheels turn in that direction. In this way, the vehicle can go in the desired direction. The communication between the wheel and the steering wheel is provided by the shaft. There is a threaded rod on this shaft. Thanks to the movement of this rod or shaft, the gear wheel turns. Therefore, the movement of the gear wheel drives the wheels.
