What is Exhaust?

Exhausts are systems that both provide the discharge of the burning gas and absorb the sound. In this way, it prevents sound pollution.

This system regularly filters the waste gases accumulated in the engine and at the same time throws them out. At the same time, the water level in the exhaust is evaporated and thrown out thanks to this system.

Exhaust Parts

The exhaust system consists of various parts. These parts that make up the exhaust are as follows:

  • Exhaust Pipes: It is divided into three parts as front, center and tail. They are parts made of steel. The volume of the pipe is designed to be twice the volume of the engine cylinder in order to better discharge the gases coming out of the cylinder.
  • Outer Housing: It is the part that forms the outer structure of the exhaust.
  • Catalytic Converter: It ensures that harmful gases become harmless by chemical reaction.
  • Honeycombs: It is a type of converter. It has the ability to increase the properties of catalysts 700 times.
  • Exhaust Manifold: It is a part designed to allow the burning gas to be thrown out as quickly as possible.
  • Silencer: It is the part that helps to reduce the noise. It allows the gas to discharge slowly. The exhaust gases first pass through the exhaust manifold, then through the exhaust pipe and finally through the muffler.

Silencers are of two types:

Countercurrent: There are non-consecutive pipes and chambers inside the muffler box. The smoke entering the muffler expands and cools with back and forth movements. It is then thrown out, having lost its voice and speed.

Straight flow: It consists of several intertwining pipes. The smoke entering the muffler continues without changing direction.

What Material Are Exhaust Pipes Made Of?

Water vapors and gas generated while the vehicle is running can cause the exhaust to rust. For this reason, exhaust pipes are produced from non-rusting steel. At the same time, the design of the exhaust is also very important. Because the more the waste gas goes out, the better the engine and parts of the vehicle are cleaned. In this way, they work with much better performanc
